DNB internet banking security

DNB internet banking provides a possibility not only for fast and convenient handling of financial matters it also pays a great deal of attention to the customer's safety. The following security measures are used:

Password system

By signing DNB internet banking (INTERNETO LINIJA) agreement you will be given a six-digit identification code, card of PIN codes, initial password in the sealed envelope and the table of TAN codes in the sealed envelope as well.

  • Identification code is your user name of DNB internet banking which is indicated in the second annex of the agreement. The identification code consists of 6 digits and remains unchanged. DNB internet banking recognizes you by the identification code.
  • Card of PIN codes is a plastic card with 24 six-digit printed PIN (Personal Identification Number) codes. Each PIN code has its number.
  • Initial password consists of 6 numbers. You will find it in a sealed envelope. When logging in to DNB internet banking for the first time you will be required to change the initial password into your own. The password may include numbers and/or letters. Capital letters and small letters differ!
  • Table of TAN codes is a table consisting of 112 six-digit TAN (Transaction Authorization Number) codes each of them having a number.
  • Password generator is a tool for generating temporary passwords which is more reliable compared with PIN and TAN cards.

Every time when logging in to DNB internet banking it is necessary to enter your identification code followed by a randomly selected PIN code and the password. TAN codes are required for approval (signing) of transactions.

User blocking

The system blocks the customer if at the moment of logging-in to Interneto Linija or approving payment orders/signing agreements the customer incorrectly enters one of the following required codes for three times in a row:

  • permanent password,
  • PIN code (PIN card is a plastic card with printed PIN codes provided by the Bank) or password generator code,
  • TAN code (TAN table is a unique printed table with TAN codes listed in numbers) or password generator code used for approval of payment orders.

You can unblock access to DNB internet banking in the following ways:

  • by calling 1608 (Monday to Friday: from 8:00 to 24:00, Saturday: from 10:00 to 16:00) if you remember the last password you have thought of,
  • visiting the Bank outlet.

NOTE: Recovery of the password provided in the envelope or creating a new password and providing other credentials can be done only in the bank branch.

Data, communication encryption and use of certificate

  • All data which is transferred from your computer to DNB internet banking service station and the other way round is protected. SSL 128 bits encryption key is used for connection security. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is the state-of-the-art technology which guarantees safe data transfer via internet.
  • DNB internet banking has been issued safety certificate by VeriSign the top global certification company. It verifies that you are connected to secure service station of DNB Bankas internet banking (INTERNETO LINIJA). Before connecting to the Internet please check if the DNB internet banking you are using is safe, i.e. it is not a false website. 

Automatic log-off

If in 15 minutes after logging to DNB internet banking you do not perform any action DNB internet banking will automatically log you off. You will be required to log in again in order to continue with your work.
