Rules for safe use of DNB internet banking

Only you posses the data for log-in to DNB internet banking. However, the security of your data may be at risk should you lose the plastic PIN code card, table of TAN codes, password generator or strangers took advantage of your trust. In order to prevent this follow the rules for safe use of DNB internet banking.

1. First of all, before connecting to the system, please check if the DNB internet banking you are about to use is safe.

2. Always make sure that after the work session you have logged off from DNB internet banking. After you have finished the work click the link "End session" (on the top right corner) and close the internet browser.

It is necessary to do so even if you leave the computer for just a second. In such a way you will be sure the strangers do not access your accounts.

3.  Please keep your log-in to DNB internet banking data secure:

3.1. Do not disclose your identification code, PIN and TAN codes and the password to strangers. Do not disclose them to your family members or the acquaintances, or the bank employees. If you wish your funds were also managed by other family members, please apply to the Bank's customer service branch or sub-branch and the indicated persons will be issued separate identification codes, tables of PIN and TAN codes.

3.2. It is better you simply memorize the password and do not write it anywhere. Since you have to think of your own password try to make it from combination of symbols which are hard to guess. Birtday dates, names of people or other information related with you is not suitable for a password. A good regular password should consist of illogical combination of numbers and letters. Change the permanent password immediately if you have any suspicions that someone might have found it out. It can be done by clicking in DNB internet banking menu Settings => Password.

3.3. When using DNB internet banking in public places make sure nobody is watching you. When finished working be sure to log-off by clicking "End session". It is recommended you change the password after using DNB internet banking in public places.

3.4. Do not send log-in to DNB internet banking or payment card data via e-mail even when replying to the letter received from the bank or give the data via the phone. The Bank never asks for such information to be provided via e-mail or telephone.

3.5. Do not follow the links to web pages sent via e-mail. If it is necessary to use the link provided in the letter, enter the address directly to your browser. Do not enter any confidential information to pop-up windows.
